Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 October 2026.

This policy covers wrenstock.com, run by Wrenstock. The site has no accounts, no forms, no advertising trackers and no cookies. It does not ask for, or keep, anything that identifies you.

Hosting and analytics

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the page and protect it from abuse. We do not run any page-view analytics. The only things this site records are the anonymous daily counts below.

API request counter

Every request to our server endpoints under /api/ is counted: a daily total per kind of caller (a named AI crawler, a browser, an unrecognised script) per endpoint, kept for 90 days. We record a category label only — no IP address, no user agent, no query string, no cookie, and nothing that could distinguish one caller from another. We use this to see which AI systems visit the site (legitimate interest).

AI referral counter

When you arrive here from an AI assistant's answer (for example ChatGPT or Perplexity), your browser reports the referring website address only — never the full link, never a search or conversation — to /api/event, and we count that visit: a daily total per assistant per site section, kept for 90 days. Every other referrer is discarded on arrival and never stored. No cookie, no identifier, no IP address, and nothing about you. We use this to understand whether AI answers cite this site (legitimate interest).

Campaign counter

If you arrive by clicking one of our own adverts or a link we have tagged, the address you land on carries labels such as utm_source=facebook. Your browser reports those labels to /api/event and we keep a daily count per advert — the source, the medium and the campaign name we chose, and nothing else. Our analytics provider cannot see them, so this is the only way to tell whether an advert brought anyone here. Click identifiers that platforms add to identify one click (fbclid, gclid and the like) are never read or stored, nor is the page you landed on. A visit with no such label sends nothing at all. Counts are held for 180 days and contain no cookie and no identifier (legitimate interest in knowing whether our own advertising works).

Link clicks

When an outbound affiliate or sponsored link is clicked, the browser sends a minimal fire-and-forget beacon to /api/event recording the link's id and the page path. It contains no cookie and no user identifier, and it is not stored in a database — it is written to our server logs as an aggregate count.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Because the counters above hold no personal data, there is normally nothing to return. Write to info@wrenstock.com with any question. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
